“Even before our decision to build a new home, Bill Fannin met with us several times to explore homes in our town that could be renovated. No promises of work ahead–he just helped us through this aspect of our decision. We recall a time when he crawled into a tight cellar space simply to examine the integrity of the structure. When we concluded, with his guidance, that a new build would better meet our personalities and budget, it was a very easy decision to hire Post & Beam Design Build for the project. Because Post & Beam worked in tandem with an architect, we were never concerned that the design would conflict with the build. The two minor issues that arose were quickly resolved when they called the architect to come to the site. This model was a huge plus in our view.
The role of a project manager, Karen, was pivotal to the successful, timely outcome. She never wasted a day; she managed to schedule the many subcontractors in order to have a reasonable timeline. Indeed, we broke ground the last of January, Post & Beam worked throughout the cold, wet winter, and we walked into our new home on September 12th. We had to rise to the occasion as well, making trips to stores in the region to select the many items for our home. Post & Beam, especially Bill, worked very closely to assure that our wishes were met and offered alternatives at every step. We remember one specific moment when Bill met with us in the master bath, mentioning that he hated to waste any of the glass tiles we selected for the tile wall. He wondered if we might want to split the very large mirror to include a strip of this tile down the middle. Genius! A better design and effective use of our resources.
Nothing written will measure up to our very positive attitude for this group of professionals. When we walked into our finished home, we were thrilled. The design that was customized for us was perfect. From the small nautical touches like the “port” style window and the lighted deck prisms in the stair posts to the finish work of all the cabinets, woodwork, and flooring, and two-tier porch, we felt at home on the day we moved in. People stop in front of our house to take photos, and strangers walking by tell us the house is beautiful.
Five years later when we asked Post & Beam to construct a wine room and a few other minor projects, Bill noticed two things amiss from the original construction. He put those on his priority list and repaired them, gratis. We consider this group as our friends. We would not hesitate one moment to highly recommend them to anyone who wants a high quality, custom home.”
